Brodyr - Our Story

When two brothers got into a deep conversation about why they had such long term loyalty to many household brands it quickly became clear that many of the reasons were at odds with their core beliefs as people. Such beliefs that were ingrained from a young age; to help people, to make things better; to protect who and what is important; to speak up; to take the lead; to be grateful and to work hard at what you believe in.

Matching brand loyalty to these beliefs was difficult, for us at least. So, Brodyr was born. It means “brothers” in Welsh and yes, there are two brothers behind the scenes with a bold vision but the association was a closer match to the concept itself. Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could belong to a community that was committed to improving the lives of each other through education, sharing ideas and focusing on positivity? Where everyone learns how to get better, together. In a chaotic world where the pressure to perform professionally and personally only intensifies, wouldn’t it be great if we could create a channel to support one another? Would it help a little to look good whilst trying to help each other feel good, knowing that behind the brand, you were all in it together, representing each other’s journey and making a stand for something bigger than yourself.

The concept turned into a brand and the ideas started to flourish but this community was only the first part of the “why”. Brodyr's community needed to be a force for good. How can we tackle big problems together? In this industry, big problems like waste, poor labor conditions, profit over quality and ever increasing carbon emissions are only getting bigger as consumers make choices attached to brand loyalty. However, the desire to be more eco-conscious is thankfully a growing concern and together we felt there was a little and big part to play to “make things better”. Therefore, the natural focus for Brodyr was going to be sustainability. A joint commitment to make the planet better, one garment at a time. Using ethically and sustainably sourced materials, manufacturing in the UK and planting a tree for every purchase made, results in Brodyr's ambition of being a carbon neutral menswear brand from the get go!

Help each other.  Heal the planet.  Look sharp.

together.
